How to make a ruffled flower

Gumpaste flowers may look complicated to make but just follow my easy step by step instructions and you will see how easy it is. This ruffled flower can be made with fondant or gumpaste in any size you desire. Perfect to decorate kids cakes, cupcakes or even wedding cakes. If you want to learn more about sugar flowers, have a look at some videos that I have posted at the end of this tutorial. Step 1
Using any colour fondant or gumpaste, cut 1 piece using your biggest round size cutter.
Step 2
Place your shaped piece on a foam pad. Then, using a ball tool, thin out the edges of the entire piece.  
Step 3
Place your piece in a round mold. Make sure that your fondant is not flat at the bottom but has a crease in the middle. (see picture)
 Step 4
Roll out the same fondant colour used for step 1 and cut 1 round shape using a smaller size cutter.
 Step 5
Place your shaped piece on a foam pad. Then, using a ball tool, thin out the edges of the entire piece.  
 Step 6

Using a clean brush, apply a little bit of water in the middle of your biggest piece. (water and fondant will act like a glue).Then, put your second piece on top of the first one.
 Step 7
Using the same colour fondant, cut out 2 pieces with the smalest round cutter.
Step 8 
Place your shaped piece on a foam pad. Then, using a ball tool, thin out the edges of the entire piece.  
 Step 9

Using a clean brush, apply a little bit of water in the middle of one of the round pieces a glue both of them together. 
Step 10
 
Using you fingers create a wrinkle shape (see picture #1) Then, once again glue all the pieces together with water. 
Step 11
Glue edible pearls using a small amount of water.Let your flower dry at least couple of hours or even over night. And voilà!
